Speaking Image is a web application developed jointly by 2mdc and General Foundation CSIC.

Its main objective is to provide an online tool for interactive annotation of images.

2. What is the purpose of Speaking Image?

Speaking Image is a web application which allows users to upload high-resolution images, work on them adding information over specific areas of the image and interact with other users through standard social network tools.

3. Is Speaking Image a desktop software?

No, Speaking Image is not a desktop software, it is a web application hosted on a server and you need a browser to interact with it.

4. What kind of browser do I need to use Speaking Image?

You need a reasonably modern browser with JavaScript support.

Speaking Image runs on Internet Explorer 7, 8 and 9, Safari 4 or better, Chrome 6 or better, Firefox 3.2 or better and Opera 9. We highly recommend using the latest versions of these browsers for better performance.

You can upload any image as long as there is no copyright infringement.

Speaking Image runs on devices with touch screens, but it doesn’t have support for editing or multitouch gestures. These features will be available soon.

8. Can I use a graphic tablet with Speaking Image?

Yes, Speaking Image includes support for graphic tablets.

9. Can I use a Digital Whiteboard with Speaking Image?

Yes, Speaking Image has support for Digital Whiteboards.

10. Can I have my own copy of Speaking Image?

Yes, Of course you can. You could license Speaking Image and have your copy on your servers.
