Milky Way structure
Using infrared images from NASA's Spitzer Space Telescope, scientists have discovered that the Milky Way's structure is dominated by two spiral arms wrapping off the ends of a central bar of stars. This interactive shows such structure over an artist's concept illustration published by NASA.
